Rear Admiral James Tecumseh barely survived his last mission against the Alliance of Free Stars with his reputation and life intact. Under a cloud of suspicion, he has been assigned to a quiet sector far from the front of the Terran Commonwealth’s war with the Castle Federation and its allies.
But when the Federation’s Operation Medusa cripples his nation’s communications and plummets an interstellar empire into silence, Admiral Tecumseh finds himself thrust into command of an entire fleet—and responsible for the safety of billions of innocent souls.
Enemies internal and external alike challenge the nation he is sworn to serve. Duty and honor call him to action to protect the innocent, and the Admiral and his new fleet are called to war once more.
But the darkest treason lurks where no one expects it…

Just finished it. So happy to be able to get back to this world. Very happy to see things from the perspective of the Commonwealth and how they deal with the loss of communications. Looking forward to the next books!

Very good read and it is good to explore in further depth the Commonwealths characters and their worlds. Of all of Glynn’s universes I do prefer the Castle Federation.
Karen Schermerhorn says
Very happy to see the fallout from Operation Medusa from the Commonwealth side, laying out exactly how catastrophic for the Terrans that masterstroke turned out. I’m especially glad to see this from the point of view of James Tecumseh, one of the very few truly honorable Terran characters presented in this series. Can’t wait for the next installment to see how he and the Dakota and Meridian Sectors contrive to survive their defiance of the Imperator and begin rebuilding the Commmonwealth!
