In the middle of February, having just finished the first round edits on Voice of Mars, I started into the third Castle Federation Book: Battle Group Avalon.
It was intended to be a 90,000 word novel, and I gave myself 45 days to finish it – until the end of March. 2,000 words a day is a pretty sustainable pace for me at this point, so this seemed a reasonable target.
About ten PM on March 31, I finished the book. It is… not 90,000 words. Battle Group Avalon ended up being just over 102,000 words, with the last 30,000 words being written in a mind-boggling (for me, anyway) seven days.
I think it’s a pretty good book XD It will go through my first pass edits and then out to editors in the next week or so and is scheduled for release May 1, 2016.
Happy reading,
Glynn Stewart

Glynn, I can’t wait to read it! I was just rereading the Stellar Fox book. You are one of the best finds I’ve had in new authors lately. Keep up the fantastic work!
Jim Caplan says
It’s a VERY good book. Just finished the ARC and if you love good old space warfare battles and tactics, this IS your cup of tea

Flew through the Mage series. Loved them all. I guess I am a sucker for Horatio Alger in Outer Space. When will the next one be out? In the meantime, I am starting your Avalon series. Really hope it is as good as the Mage series.

Current target for Alien Arcana is September, we’ll see how that breaks down as I’m out of the country on my actual target launch date.
I think Castle Federation is as good as Starship’s Mage, but there’s a teensy possibility I’m biased.

Will you be setting up an Amazon kindle pre-order? I’m ready to order it now!!
Glynn Stewart says
There generally will not be pre-orders of my books for two reasons:
1. Amazon requires that I submit the final files at least ten days before release. Right now, I release as soon as I have a final edited copy and a cover. There is some conscious timing going in to actual release dates, but that feeds into the deadlines that are given to my editors. I don’t have, and would prefer not to have, a ten day gap between having a final book and launch 🙂
2. The way Amazon handles pre-orders means that having a pre-order risks significantly degrading my visibility. I’m still a small enough fish that visibility on Amazon can make or break a book for me, so this isn’t a risk I’m prepared to take at this point.
