This blog post was published on and may be out of date. Visit the books page for up to date links and releases. Space Carrier Avalon has been an EPIC success. As of writing this post, with Avalon having been out for about twenty-eight days, it sits at roughly #600 on Kindle. It peaked about #325, and hit the top ten for Space Opera and Military SF on every single English-speaking Amazon site. It is, without any real argument, a bestselling independent novel. Before I say anything ... Read more »

Release Schedule
This blog post was published on and may be out of date. Visit starshipsmage.com for current information on the Starship's Mage universe. The bottom of the front page has now been updated with a schedule of the planned release dates for 2015. They are as follows: City in the Sky: Late March. Also known as 'Very Soon Now (TM)" Space Carrier Avalon: May or June. I'm aiming for the end of May, but I've got about 25,000 words left to go, plus at least one edit cycle. If it slips into ... Projects Update
There's been a bit of radio silence on here the few weeks - I started a new job in January, and while it's been an absolute blast, its also taking most of my brainpower during the week. Most of what's left goes into writing rather than posting here. Somehow, I suspect everyone's okay with that! Figured I would throw out a quick update on what I'm working on: The main project right now is Space Carrier Avalon. This is at 47,000 words, and tracking relatively well for a target release date ... Read more »
The Glynn Stewart How-To Guide for Self-Publishing
A few people have asked me for a guide on the mechanics of self-publishing. I used the same style I'd use for a basic office process manual, so it gets pretty simplistic at points. For the curious, the text is after the cut: ... Read more »
Happy Holidays / 2014 Round-up
First of all, I hope everyone has had / is having a Happy Hannukah, Merry Christmas, Blessed Yule, or general Happy Winter Holiday! 2014 has been an incredible year for me from a writing perspective. Late 2013 I launched Starship's Mage: Episode 1, and the response by the beginning of 2014 had been pretty lackluster. I figured this was not entirely unexpected for a single novella lurking in the lost depths of Amazon, so I continued writing the other Episodes. They have slowly but surely grown ... Read more »
When Words Collide 2014
This past weekend my wife and I attended the When Words Collide writer's festival here in Calgary, Alberta. (Website is already starting to show the details for next year!) I'll admit to not having a lot of experience with conventions. I've attended exactly two in my entire life - ShevaCon 2005 and World Fantasy Con 2008 when it was here in Calgary. That said, I found that the WWC Festival was extremely well put together - there was none of the confusion over space, badges, panels or ... Read more »
