Today, Changeling’s Fealty hit 90,000 words.
There have been some brutal scenes in the last 10,000 words – a lot of things have come out from under the shadows. Some cold blooded acts were taken by good guys. Some pretty explicitly evil things were done by bad guys.
90,000 words is a pretty important milestone in my mind though. This is the end game, the final pages of the book, the point at which I can definitely say that this book will get finished. Also the point where I start thinking about sequels and if I will write any at all.
Surprisingly, for something that was started randomly for NaNoWriMo, this one may actually end up getting a sequel (or at least, the outline-and-twenty-thousand words that I have for potential sequels for a few things being shopped around).
Of course, once this is finally done, it then gets handed over to the agent for him to take a chainsaw to. Seeing as how it started at a NaNoWriMo project, it’s probably more in need of one than most of the things I’ve written. What comes out the other end will hopefully be publishable XD
In other news, I start a brutally heavy corporate income tax course in a few weeks, so there is a very specific deadline for when Changeling’s Fealty must be finished.
Wish me luck!
