2078 words today, and 42,179 total.
The story is arching towards its first climax and major scene changer. This is a roughly the midway point of the story, I think. From here on, our hero is a bit more focused on solving whats been laid before him – its about to get personal, and there are about to be time limits.
My goal is to break 50,000 words by or on Saturday, and then mostly leave it alone until Thursday – I write a major accounting exam for my designation next Wednesday.
I’m currently eyeballing 85,000 to 90,000 for Changeling’s Fealty’s final length, but we’ll see. Getting from the new ‘changed scene’ I’ll be at when I finish NaNoWriMo to the ‘revelations and violence’ sequence could take ten thousand words – or thirty. If its the latter, this book will end up breaking 100,000 words (though, most likely, sometime in January as Yule will probably murder any attempt to keep this pace up… though my time commitment for NaNo has only really been 70 to 90 minutes a day).
I will continue to update on Fealty once I’ve past the end of NaNoWriMo, as carrying the totals here helps keep me focused. Questions and commentary on my babbling on here are always welcome!
Which brings me to a separate point – over the last few weeks I’ve seen an upsurge in new subscribers, and most of you don’t even look like spambots (which is new, I have to admit ;)). Feel free to introduce yourselves and please let me know how you found your way here! I haven’t advertised this blog nearly as much as I should, so suggestions for getting it more out there would be helpful as well.
