Recently on twitter, I posted a series of 140 character summaries of my completed novels. To follow up on that, I will now be posting a series of short ‘back cover’ blurbs, along with a little bit of background on the book in question.
In a history where the Roman Empire never fell, and spread to encompass the galaxy, conquering aliens and star after star, a new foe has arisen to challenge Rome as it has never been challenged before. The almighty Legion faces an enemy equal to it in both numbers and cunning, and is driven to its utmost to face an imlacable foe.
But even as immense armadas sweep down on the Empire, old divisions do not die, and the flames of internal conflict only rise higher. From the front lines of a war against a faceless enemy to the heart of the Senate chambers, a young officer named Johan Yiries finds himself drawn to the heart of the Empire’s dreams and nightmares – and forced to decide which is which!
Legions of the Sky was actually written while I was still in high school and is almost ten years old (I should look at the file and see when its birthday is, I swear). A very traditional space opera bug war, with several twists, I like some of the concepts I wove into this story, though I’m not as sure of the execution as I was ten years ago!
In other news, I am still alive, and will try and keep posting these summations every few days to stop this blog from going cold!
Namaste all,
Glynn Stewart
PS: questions and suggestions that I can write articles on when I run out of books are more than welcome 😉
