Why is there so much dust in here?
It’s been a busy year for personal business, and both my writing and this blog fell to the side while it was all going on. This year I completed a professional accounting designation, switched employers for the first time in almost a decade, and got married. A few minor distractions!
Now that I am mostly back into the swing of writing, it’s time to update this blog with where I’m at.
Currently, I have one project on the go and one in the stages of planning. The first is trucking along nicely and has some fun world-building around it. I’ll talk to this one in a more detailed blog post once its further along, as it’s going to be a bit of an experiment on my part and experiments are always better exposed to the public when they’re less likely to fall apart.
I’m also busy planning a third novel in the Changeling-verse. The second actual Changeling novel is currently at 20,000-words-and-an-outline like all of my non-abandoned sequels, but this one will be focusing on a different part of the supernatural world I touched on in Changeling’s Fealty. While there will be Fae in this book, it will be centered around the Wizards who were an important plot point in Fealty, and explaining some of the oddities around them.
This one I’m hoping to keep a bit more completely stand-alone than Changeling’s Fealty (which has a seven-novel arc in my notes), and the plan is to start it as my NaNoWriMo project this year. With school finally complete, I will actually be able to do NaNoWriMo this November, and I found (with Changeling’s Fealty) that NaNoWriMo’s 50,000 words makes a good start to a novel.
Anyone else planning on doing NaNoWriMo this year? How much company am I going to have in my insanity?
Good luck,
Glynn Stewart
